Shoreline Community College is hosting virtual food and wine pairing courses this winter. Both classes are available under Shoreline Community College's Food & Wine page. 

Understanding French Wines and their Labels - February 19, 2021 - 6 to 9 pm PST

If you love Bordeaux, Burgundy, and the Rhone, then this is the class for you! Join Reggie and develop an understanding of French wines and their labels from the comfort of your couch. You’ll explore the historical wine regions that have been the foundation for many new world wine regions and discuss grape varieties, characteristics, and the stylistic nuances that define these wines. Famous producers and appellations will also be noted along the way. Give the gift of wine education for Valentine’s Day or enjoy this 3-hour online class with friends!  

Wine Regions of the Pacific Northwest - March 6, 2021 - 1 to 4 pm PST


Join Reggie in this online course focused on the wine regions of the beautiful Pacific Northwest! Learn about the viticultural differences of the region and explore the geology, geography, weather, and history that make our wines unique. This course will discuss the wines that are produced in the Washington and Oregon and why they smell, taste, and have the complexity that help them last in your cellar.  

Food & Wine Pairing: Understanding the Relationship - January 6, 2021 - March 18, 2021


This self-paced class is a fundamental and foundational course in understanding food and wine pairing. The styles of winemaking and the aromatics that occur during the process will be explored and explained through the online course materials and exercises. Students will learn about the anatomy of the human sensory receptors, and how each individual culture, biology and preference will assist them in determining how they taste food and wine. A variety of wine styles will be explored, and a list of wines recommended for tasting at home. Students will have a variety of foods to choose from and pair with their wine choices.

Pacific NW Sensory Experience 

This is a foundation wine class that will enable you to understand wine production, grape varieties and vineyards as they relate to climate and topography. We will enjoy the sensory evaluation of wines that will lead to an understanding of aromas and characteristics in wines from Oregon and Washington.  And we will systematically taste through wines, and form an understanding of the vine, geology, grape varieties and how those aromas and characteristics develop in the wines we taste. We will explore through very fun and informative exercises and assist you in building an aroma library.

March 26, 2021, 6-8pm

Food & Wines of the Pacific NW

Come and learn, taste, and pair many styles of Lady Hill wines from the Pacific NW that we will pair with foods of the Pacific NW. This class is offered in person and will be held outside and with generous spacing and with individual plates of bites to pair with our diverse wines. 

Explanations on Oregon, Washington and classic regions of Europe will be covered.

This class includes the food, 6 different wines and the foundations on food and wine pairing. PLEASE VISIT LADY HILL WINERY WEBSITE FOR MORE DETAILS!


MARCH 19 and 26, 2021 (Friday evening), 6 to 8 pm at Lady Hill Winery in St. Paul, Oregon. Come and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the back porch.

Wednesdays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2021; 10am to 3pm (lunch break from noon to 1pm). Exam on Wednesday, May 19, 10am. Classes to be held at Lady Hill Winery, Willamette Valley, OR. For safety, classes will be held outdoors on the covered patio with heaters available. Masks will be required. Maximum of 16 students.



April 25, May 2, 16, 23, 2021; 10am to 3pm

Sundays, April 25, May 2, May 16, May 23, 2021; 10:00am to 3pm (lunch break from noon to 1pm). Exam on Sunday, June 13, 2021; 10:00am. For safety, these classes to be held at DeLille Cellars’s new, expansive event space in Woodinville, WA. Masks will be required. Maximum of 16 students.


WSET Level 3 Certification Course WOODINVILLE $1,395.00

Mondays, April 26 - June 21, 10am to 4pm (one-hour lunch break from 1pm to 2pm). Certification exam Monday, July 12, 10am. For safety, courses will be held at DeLille Wine Cellars new, expansive event space in Woodinville, WA. Masks are required. Maximum of 16 students.
